Aber-Dîn

Aber-Dîn

Red Note Ensemble

Aber-Dîn is a new multi-media work by Franco-Lebanese composer / visual artist Zad Moultaka, for the combined forces of Red Note Ensemble (Scotland) and Percussions Claviers de Lyon (France), to be premiered at Sound Festival (Aberdeen) and touring in France. Zad Moultaka will create an hour-long piece for dix musicians from the ensembles. The piece will take Jules Verne’s Voyage backwards to England and Scotland as a starting point, following research on links between Scotland & Lebanon at Glasgow University’s Archeology Department. A fictional Lebanese composer, Jonathan Zadorno and his scientific friend Gilles Lavouret travel to Aberdeen to prove all Britons come from Beirut.
